The B. Gale Wilson community understands the important role that parents play in the teaching and learning process. Parents/guardians volunteer in a number of ways including field trip chaperons, recess volunteers, cafeteria volunteers and as classroom helpers.
Recess
Recess duty is a great way to help out the school staff. If you are willing and available to help our school staff monitor our students at recess than this extra set of eyes can make a big difference.
Classroom helper
Teachers are always looking for parent volunteers in the classroom. As a parent volunteer, you will be able to meet your child’s classmates, experience your child’s interactions with their teacher and peers and most of all, see the pride in your child’s face when you are there to share special times with their class. All parents and guardians are encouraged to volunteer. It is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your child’s classroom. Please arrange your visit in advance with your child’s teacher so they can make the most of your volunteer time.
School Site Council
The school site council is a group of teachers and parents that work with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets, as well as improvements in student performance. You may click on the following links for additional information:

Volunteers and Chaperones
Board policy states that all volunteers and chaperones must be fingerprinted through the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. Once fingerprinted, your prints are valid at any school in the district as long as you wish to volunteer. The school site Secretary will be notified by Human Resources once fingerprints have cleared. Only then may someone volunteer in the classroom or chaperone a field trip.
If interested, contact Maryann Moody (707-399-5078) in the Human Resources Department of FSUSD to make an appointment to be fingerprinted.
